I’ve trained at mission for nearly eight years. The environment here allowed for me to develop quickly, compete successfully , and helped my confidence throughout other endeavors. The group of veterans at the gym and new people who come in quickly take to the welcoming and enthusiastic culture and cultivate a wonderful training environment. I’m lucky to have been able to train here and meet such amazing teachers and friends.

I started training at Mission First over three years ago. From day one, it’s been an incredibly welcoming environment, and everyone is willing to help—regardless of belt level. Everyone rolls with everyone, and there’s always someone ready to help you improve or answer questions. The environment that Pat and his team have created here is extremely rare, and you’d be hard-pressed to find anything like it in any sport. Upper belts and peers are constantly working with you to improve your skill set. You’ll often hear upper belts say they want you to improve so they can improve—and that’s not just talk. They genuinely live it every day.

Mission First is a phenomenal BJJ academy. Pat (owner) fosters an amazing environment and culture; everyone is extremely welcoming and encouraging to all students and all levels. Mission First is focused on developing students both on and off the mats. They integrate kids' classes into the open mat on weekends to help build community. I have trained in gyms all across the country, and Mission First is in the top 1%.

I’ve been training jiu jitsu at Mission First for almost 10 years, and it has had an incredibly positive impact on my life. While training here, I’ve gained so much confidence and built meaningful relationships with the amazing community. The atmosphere is always supportive, welcoming, and motivating, and it truly feels like a second home. Mission First has helped shape me into the person I am today, and being part of this community has been one of the most influential and impactful experiences of my life. I’m extremely grateful for everything this gym and its people have given me.

Coming from a college rowing background with a team-first program culture, I was searching for that again in my life after graduation. Having been at Mission First BJJ for two years now, I confidently say that it has the best team culture I have ever experienced. The coaching, mentorship, and relationships built through progressing in BJJ at this school have made my life better in every. The school is legit, the character of its leaders is how you aspire to be. You’ll be welcomed from the first day and what you put in is what you’ll get out.
