Tom is my coach at UT BJJ and I can confidently say he one of the most knowledgable people I have ever met. He is very technical and cares tremendously about his students, and is always willing to take time out of his day to help others. Most importantly he is an amazing person and makes Jiujitsu a fun sport for his students, which is why everyone wants to roll with him. If your in the Austin area, and are looking for a place to train or want to try out a jiujitsu class, I highly recommend coming to Modern Art as you will be surrounded by a fantastic community that will make you fall in love with the sport.

Tommy is one of the biggest lovers of jiu jitsu that exists. The passion this man has is contagious and any time spent with him on the mat is equal to a private lesson with some of the greatest world champions of our time. He proves his technical abilities in competition but the art of teaching and making someone understand is a special talent that not many people have. If you want to get good at the art this is the place to be. If you want to fall in love with jiujitsu and truly understand its concepts, this is the place. Also he is amazing at chess!
