Round Rock Karate Academy

This is a great school for any level karate student. Master Delenela works wonderfully with the children. From the beginning, I saw how he creates a family within the school, and the Dons ( Tyler and Wyatt) work great with the kids as well. My son didn't know any karate when he started but now 6 months in he has learned so much including confidence. If you are looking for a place that cares about their students and making lasting friendships, this is the place.

We went to several other karate studios and for us it was instantly obvious that this one was far above and beyond the rest. Master Delenela pours his heart and soul into teaching the art and has gone to great lengths to keep the children engaged and excelling even through the quarantine and mess of a year. The other assistant teachers are fantastic as well. My son absolutely loves going, and enjoys the zoom classes as well; it is the highlight of his week. It has helped his confidence to grow and it seems the other students are equally engaged and growing. We've recommended this place to several friends. Not only do they teach karate but they also impress upon the students the importance of and how to become a person with sound morals and virtues. Can't recommend them enough!!

I've been training with Master Delenela for over ten years, so I hope to give an insider glimpse into what training at the academy is like. It's a very encouraging environment. Students are treated respectfully and Master Delenela is one of the most patient teachers I have seen. He is funny and knows when to blend measures of humor and empathy to get the best efforts out of the kids when needed. The karate itself is traditional yet understandable and relatable. You learn technical theory and some Korean vocabulary but it is integrated well into the physical lessons and applications. Master Delenela is a skilled technician - it shows in his instruction and in the caliber of students and martial artists he produces. I have trained in multiple schools with my share of noted martial artists and Round Rock Karate Academy stands out overall for its combination of environment and rigor. I would recommend those searching for a traditional martial arts school to check out RRKA. It has classes and instructional levels for students of all ages and is rooted in respect, courtesy, and safety.

We have been part of Round Rock Karate Academy family for more than 7 years. My twins joined as Little Dragons and now they are Black Belt one stripe in training for the second stipe, and junior instructors. My children love to be there and I love it as well, as they are in the most capable hands they can be. I can't even make justice in words on what Master D.Delenela means for my children and our family. He is training children and adults with high professionalism and passion. My children grew to be focused, disciplined, polite, and humble, because of Master Delenela. RRKA, train the students body, mind, and soul, a balance that many studios do not teach. I cannot stress enough how important is the mind and soul training for karate students, especially the young children. The training of the mind and soul, the most important part in martial arts, is often overlooked but not at RRKA. But don't get me wrong. RRKA excells in karate techniques teaching as well. RRKA takes many Grand Champions trophies to all tournaments and that is only because of the high standard of training that RRKA provides. If you look for training in martial arts as an adult or for your children, than Round Rock Karate Academy and Master Delenela, are your best choice. Give it a try. You will not regret it.

My son liked this place as soon as we set foot in it. Previously, we visited 2 other dojos and tried them out, but this is the one that he chose and he has chosen wisely. Great family-like environment. Great support. Great owner. Great instructors. I can't say enough good things and it's been over a year and a half now or so.
