My son can be a little wild and somehow they are able to redirect him and get him to pay attention. He is so excited about getting to train at the gym and his older sister decided to join as well after seeing how awesome it is. The coaches/professors are incredibly talented and you can tell they really care about proper form and safety of the children while actually learning real deal jiu-jitsu moves. The level of respect, cleanliness and family environment also helped us to choose Rafael and his crew over the many other gyms in the area. Super excited for the journey for my kiddos here.

After relocating from Arizona, my daughter has trained at this gym for over one year, and the experience has been outstanding. The instructors provide patient, high-quality Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction, truly demonstrating genuine care for the success and growth of each student while fostering steady improvement in technique, confidence, and discipline. The clean, well-maintained facility and welcoming, family-oriented environment create an exceptional sense of community and respect. We have been so impressed that three additional family members have since joined. This academy has far exceeded our expectations.

Our family has twin 4 year olds that started last month. Have zero class experience and they are wiggly... Like really wiggly, easily distracted, and full of energy. My mama nerves are usually at an all time high as my rambunctious pre-schoolers test boundaries and learn the rhythm of the class. The beauty of this gym is that coaches meet these actions with presence, love, appropriate boundaries, redirection, and understanding. When the owner is on the floor with the four and five year olds during warm ups, you can see the heart of who they are. Would absolutely recommend Double Five Jui Jitsu to anyone looking to joining the sport. Their care for the smallest members speaks volumes.

By far the best Jiu-Jitsu gym I’ve ever trained at or been a part of. Formiga is a 9 time world champion and 14 time Pan Americans champion (as of 4.21.24) who is able to go do what he teaches his students to do. The family environment at Double Five is incredible and the reason why my kids wanted to get back into Jiu-Jitsu. Double Five is such a well rounded gym with instruction for those that want to compete and those that have zero desire to compete. Whatever you want to get out of Jiu-Jitsu you 100% will find here under the instruction of Formiga and his instructors. It is not uncommon for there to be 13-17 black belts in a class training and also helping all the students progress. Double Five allows all gyms to come and cross train at any time and encourages it. Double Five tries to host seminars often to bring in other instructors and show their students a different approach to Jiu-Jitsu. There is ZERO Ego from Formiga and his students. My family is proud and honored to be a part of the Double Five Family.
