About

Fast Lane Jiu Jitsu Academy in Houston offers training in both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and mixed martial arts. The academy is led by head instructor Alex Lane, a first degree black belt under Professor Tim Credeur, and features a diverse coaching team including Sienna as women's program leader and multiple assistant and junior coaches. The facility includes amenities like a sauna and maintains a clean, well structured training environment. Members experience a unique blend of welcoming community and high intensity competition, with Thursday nights dedicated to nonstop competition rounds that push practitioners beyond their comfort zones. The coaching approach balances patience and toughness, with belt promotions that must be earned through demonstrated skill and dedication. I had an amazing first session at Fastlane Jitsu Academy with Professor Alex Lane! Thursday nights are nonstop competition rounds, and the intensity here is on another level. Even after two years of training jiujitsu, I was pushed far beyond my comfort zone in the best way possible. The atmosphere is welcoming yet highly competitive, and the team has great pressure and pace that will help anyone level up fast. I recently moved closer to the gym (living at UH Main Campus), so I’m excited to keep training here regularly and continue improving. Highly recommend this place to anyone serious about getting better!

Fast Lane Jiu-Jitsu is hands down the best gym around! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed like family. The professor (Alex) is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and motivating. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an advanced practitioner, they meet you where you’re at and push you to grow. The environment is super clean, the classes are well-structured, and the community here is top-notch. I’ve gained skills, confidence, and friendships that go beyond the mat. If you’re looking for a place to train hard, learn real technique, and be part of a great team, Fast Lane is it. Highly recommend!

My son, now 13, started jujitsu with Professor Alex when he was 6. He is helping me write this review. Jujitsu has taught him self discipline, confidence, and determination. Professor Alex is tough yet patient. He does not hand out belt promotions; they have to be earned. His goal is for you to walk out of his class a better and stronger person than when you walked in. He provides a nurturing yet effective environment for my son to learn and grow. And grow he has! Thank you, Professor Alex, for treating my son like family and teaching him the art of jujitsu!
