Coach McFarlane is the perfect balance of fun and accountable, funny and respectful, technical and patient. He is absolutely outstanding with the kids, meeting each student where they are, and pushing them not towards a shortsighted result but to invest long term in their own mental, physical, and emotional growth. We tried another gym and were turned off by the odd culture and hard sell - Ravlin is the opposite. They’re relaxed (but deliberate), easy to work with, and create a great experience. I couldn’t recommend them more emphatically.

I was having the worst day at work and was feeling so down on myself, but then I went to the noon BJJ class at Ravlin and learned how to flip a guy twice my size over my head and then I felt SO much better Seriously though, I started attending jiu jitsu classes at Ravlin 8 months ago and was very nervous since I had no experience. Professor Angelus and the other students have been so welcoming and patient with me while I learn. Jiu jitsu can be a demanding and overwhelming sport, but the students here trust and look out for each other in a way that makes it easier for me to push myself and try my best. I also love the Wednesday women's classes - Coach Dom is a great teacher and really gives us the space to practice our techniques. This is a great gym that I recommend for anyone at any level

The Head Trainer and Owner here is Angelus, I used to train with him back in the day and I have come here to his new place and I am amazed its gotten better than before. He is an excellent coach, active Martial Arts Competitor, and teacher. I love getting trained by someone who is actually actively fighting in their prime, not by someone who has had their glory days a few decades ago. He has the patience to train anybody from their first day to even the more seasoned and skilled fighters. The facility is clean, competitive prices with discounts on longer contracts, and offers no contract options along with drop in classes. It lets you know this isnt a money emphasized gym, the instructor cares about your goals. If you just want to get in shape, this is the class. If you want to become a world class black belt, this is the class. Today on a slow Monday class you get the same kind of detailed attention as you would on those packed Friday nights. I highly recommend this place to anybody who is a Martial Arts Enthusiast/Fitness Enthusiast or just curious about learning to defend yourself.

If you’re looking for world-class martial arts instruction for yourself or your child, Ravlin Martial Arts is the place to be. Professor Angelus McFarlane and his team are not only elite-level practitioners of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, and Judo—they are phenomenal coaches, mentors, and role models. Their ability to teach complex skills with patience, discipline, and encouragement is second to none. My 6-year-old daughter and I have both been training at Ravlin for a year, and the transformation we’ve seen—especially in her—has been nothing short of amazing. She has gained confidence, discipline, and focus, and it shows in every area of her life. She’s now making the Principal’s Honor Roll, thriving in extracurriculars, showing deep respect to others, and tackling everyday responsibilities with pride and enthusiasm. Her growth in martial arts, physical fitness, and mental toughness has been incredible. And as for me—Ravlin keeps me sharp, strong, and improving right alongside her. If you’re considering martial arts for yourself or your child, I highly recommend stopping by Ravlin for a class. The environment is welcoming, the community is supportive, and the coaching is top-tier. Stick with it, and you’ll witness a transformation that any parent—or adult—would be proud of. Ravlin doesn’t just teach martial arts. They build better people.

Ravlin offers a tremendous opportunity to learn both Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. My kids enjoy both practices and have come a long way since they started a few months ago. Professor Angelus and Coach Stacy are incredibly dedicated and always encouraging the kids to bring their best effort, believe in themselves, and excel. In addition to all the precise technical skills taught, there are tons of life lessons about respect, self-control, confidence, resilience and plain old common sense. I was very fortunate to find Ravlin and their special family vibe.
