My 5 year old son has been going there since November and he has grown in his wrestling abilities so much. This place is a hidden gem. I like the gym a lot. I love the main coach, he is experienced and successful. I feel like even at its most crowded he was still getting attention and it wasn’t overwhelming. It’s affordable pricing and my son LOVES going to wrestling practice every week. I give this place 2 thumbs up and recommend to any Kingwood/Humble/Atascocita area families looking to get their kids into wrestling.

My son started training at Rise late in his freshman year. That first year, he qualified for Texas UIL regional tournament. He's a senior now and is ranked first in his Texas state 5A division weight class. Thanks to Rise, he qualified for the UIL state championship in both his sophomore and junior years, and is training to return to state this year. In his sophomore and junior years, he also qualified for the USA Wrestling Texas national team (Team Texas), and in his junior year, traveled with Team Texas to compete in the national dual tournament in both Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling in Tulsa, OK. The majority of his success is a direct result of the coaching and life lessons learned from the coaches at Rise, which include Coach Derrick, an olympian, Coach Terry, a former middle and high school wrestler and 3-time state champion (and a world champion in Brazilian Ju Jitsu as a blue belt), and coach Allen, a former high school and collegiate wrestler and coach to his daughter, a 2-time US national champion now competing for a spot on the US Olympic team. Beyond that, Rise Wrestling has produced a half-dozen or more Texas state champion wrestlers. I'm profoundly grateful for the time, energy, and effort the Rise family has invested in my son's development, both as a wrestler, and more importantly, as a young man! If you or your child has a serious desire to excel in the amazing sport of wrestling, and at the same time, become a mentally and physically tough person, in my opinion, there is no better club in the Houston area to do so!

Aside from my daughter fracturing her spine during practice, due to an incident that could have been avoided, and not being able to return to any sports for a year, it's an ok school. They are slowly but surely growing into giving more opportunities to females. Despite my daughter getting hurt severely, we hope they get more qualified coaches so that incidents like ours do not happen again, and we can see more female presence in the future.
