I attended the women’s self-defense class and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I was a little nervous to go, but very interested in the topic. The class exceeded my expectations. The instructor had a perfect balance of educational Information and active trials. She masterfully addressed a number of potentially sensitive topics/scenarios. We enjoyed the class so much (and also feel it is such an important skill set) that we are going to go back and bring our teenage daughters with us. It’s a really nice local family run business as well.

Attended a private self defense workshop and was quite impressed with our teacher. Bianca made my whole group feel at ease. The conversation was enlightening and she spoke clearly when explaining techniques. She definitely has convinced me to join her regular weekly self defense classes and I am even considering going back to BJJ. I always felt uncomfortable going to BJJ but her class has really made me value the skills I was learning and I’d love to give it another shot.

Randomly found them online and saw they offered a self-defense class for women. After some hesitation and signed up… and it was great! Bianca taught a lot in 1.5 hrs and was hands-on, helping each individual. A lot of good information and very encouraging. Liked it so much, likely sign up for more classes.

This place is amazing! We’ve been coming to Urban Jungle for over eight years. The team that runs Urban Jungle is warm, supportive and caring. This family-owned dojo has created an incredible community of people who genuinely care and have your back. It feels like an home away from home. The kids BJJ classes go beyond just the grappling and games. Our children have so much more confidence, self-control, and discipline because of the blessings they teach. I’m honestly not sure where we would be without Urban Jungle.

Absolutely outstanding! This, family owned and operated dojo has no equal in the Houston area. Tony and Michelle Torres-Aponte have created a culture that teaches not only respect for the art of Jiu Jitsu but for ourselves and each other too. You will find the training and coaching are second to none, at all skill levels and the family atmosphere is always supportive and inclusive. Thank you Tony and Michelle and family for making Urban Jungle a wonderful reality!
