I highly recommend this place! I'm from Salt Lake, moved to Maui a few years ago, then came to salt lake to work for 4 months in the winter. I love everything about Jiujitsu here. I love Professor Gustavo's way of teaching, and he's a quality human. It is a good group of students as well.

GRBJJ is amazing jitsu school. Professor Gustavo and other Black belts that teach GRBJJ at GFA are very knowledgeable and tend every studen individually to learn the details. Teaching is straight to the point, with traditional Brazilian smash and pass philosophy of techniques that are truly timeless, and will work under high pressure and intensity. Some may say it's 1800's, ok.. but still works in 2020s. This is why Gustavo's Jitcu has authority over others. And for the doubters that think BJJ doesn't work in real life situations.. I say come on in comrades.. you ll have enlightened day!

My husband and two of my kids have trained with Gustavo for almost 4 years and it's been SO great for them! My husband went from being out of shape and somewhat depressed to being in excellent health with a completely new zest for life. Gustavo is an incredibly skilled professor as well as being a really nice guy. There is a great environment in the gym and a wonderful sense of family among all who train there, with many advanced belts and opportunities to train with really skilled fighters. They genuinely care about each other and want to help everyone progress. They're very welcoming of people of all ages and backgrounds. If anyone is interested in learning Brazilian jiu-jitsu I would strongly recommend that you stop by GRBJJ for a free trial class!
