I found Park City Jiu Jitsu through a Google search and feel so lucky to walk into the gym I did. I initially joined to improve my endurance and to exercise and while I received those things I’ve gained so much more! I’ve met incredible people, made life long friends and have learned lessons in the gym that I’ve applied to the rest of my life. The instructors at PC BJJ will meet you where you are at in your jiu jitsu journey. I’ve been doing it now for 5 years and there’s no looking back!

My 4 boys and husband go to Park City Jiu Jitsu. The teachers are all so amazing. They teach great teamwork, confidence, how to not be bullied, and not be a bully. We have enjoyed this gym so much.

As a fresh white belt with almost zero experience with grappling or any form of martial art, Park City Jiu Jitsu is a place where I feel welcome and safe to learn at my own pace. I am 6' 2" @250lbs with an athletic build and that can be pretty scary going into a martial art. The instruction feels personal and the guys/gals that attend are some of the most patient and understanding bunch. The fruits of this academy show in the kind and compassionate individuals that attend every week. I am very grateful to be training at this academy.

I am a mid-tier, mediocre blue belt who loved the school (Pedro Sauer lineage) I trained at for years before moving to Utah. I tried a lot of schools and never found a good fit. Finding Park City Jiu-Jitsu was like finding water in the desert. Here’s what I personally look for when it comes to jiu-jitsu: 1. Good people. You’re going to spend a fair amount of time with the people you train with, and you need to have a good time for crying out loud! 2. I need that “pure” jiu-jitsu. Park City Jiu-Jitsu is like Walter White’s 99.1% blue stuff. Luke went to Yoda for a reason, people! This is that pure stuff—not the commercial, McDonald’s jiu-jitsu you get from a lot of places nowadays. To each their own, but for me, the detail-oriented, self-defense-focused, magic-like jiu-jitsu is why I love it. 3. The Laboratory. You need a place where you can experiment, intentionally put yourself in bad positions, try that stupid cartwheel guard pass you’ve always wanted (guilty as charged), and trust that your partner is going to take care of you. This is just a free Costco sample of what Park City Jiu-Jitsu has to offer. Come to either location to get the whole meal. I’m as picky as it gets, and they easily get 5/5 stars.

Professor Mike Diaz is an ideal teacher for Jiu Jitsu. He's very knowledgeable and helpful to each student. I think Park City Jiu Jitsu also has a great culture that helps each student feel welcomed and motivated to do their best. I highly recommend training here!
