Been training at Alliance a little over two months after being out of the grappling space for about 6 years and the experience has been amazing. Steve was extremely professional and friendly and walked me through the types of memberships, gym amenities, etc without ever pressuring me to sign up. His communication and organization is A1 and it’s reflected in the culture and how the gym is run. Professor Julio, Juan, and Jen are extremely knowledgeable and patient with us. The classes are laid out and executed with intention and students in mind. I never hesitate to ask questions and my jiu jitsu has grown exponentially since starting. It’s clear from the culture and structure that everyone at Alliance prioritizes training over formalities. We’re so lucky to have everyone at Alliance as family!

We’ve absolutely loved our experience at Alliance Jiu Jitsu. If you’re looking for a place to train, seriously — don’t overthink it. We already did the searching for you. This is the place. We actually tried three different gyms before choosing Alliance. It was clearly the best in the area. Professor Julio and Professora Jennifer are an amazing balance of discipline, structure, warmth, and so much passion and knowledge. They really know how to challenge the kids while also encouraging them them to grow. They celebrate their progress and keep them focused and accountable at the same time. A good friend of mine whose kids have trained jiu jitsu for years in another area even said, “If I were starting fresh today, I’d start here. The community of athletes and parents are all very warm and welcoming as well! Highly recommend! Do it!

This Gym is top tier. The studio is always clean and the students, instructors, and owner are very welcoming. Julio, Juan, and Jen are amazing instructors and are great at explaining techniques and will push you. I came in as a newbie and learned a lot over the course of three months. The owner Steve is amazing and is one of the friendliest guys I’ve ever met and is always looking for feedback and asking for others thoughts. There is not a better environment to learn and train at. You cannot duplicate what Alliance has to offer.

Alliance BJJ in Bountiful is an absolutely outstanding gym, especially for kids. Both of my children (ages 5 and 7) train here, and I couldn’t be happier with our experience. The instructors are world-class black belts, which is incredible to have at a local gym. Even more impressive is how well they work with the kids — they’re patient, supportive, encouraging, and genuinely make learning fun. The quality of everything at this gym is top-notch. From the mats to the belts and gis, the equipment is clearly second to none. The facility itself is very clean and modern, with a thoughtful layout and design. There are plenty of comfortable seating and entertainment areas for parents, which makes spending time there while the kids are on the mats really enjoyable. The mats are always super clean, and the overall environment is welcoming and professional. What really stands out, though, is the family atmosphere and sense of community. There’s very little ego here — just a positive, supportive culture where kids can learn, grow, and build confidence. If you’re looking to get your kids involved in jiu-jitsu and want world-class instruction paired with an amazing overall experience, I can’t recommend Alliance BJJ in Bountiful highly enough.

I met Professor Julio when I first moved to Utah. I needed a new home to train. Julio welcomed me with open arms and has been my instructor now a little over 3 years. His caring personality is what told me I am home away from home. I was promoted to black belt under professor Julio in 2024. I was his first US student to be promoted to black belt and first female black belt to be promoted under him. He is awesome with the kids. He will teach them integrity and help them grow into strong individuals. He is a gentle giant and very professional. Professor Julio is a great friend outside the mats. We are lucky to have a great person in our lives.
