Higher Vision Studios

Our journey with Higher Vision Studios began years ago with a fun birthday party for a friend's child. The kids had a blast, and we discovered their amazing ninja warrior classes. My children quickly became regulars, and we saw incredible improvements in their coordination, balance, and flexibility. More importantly, their confidence and social skills blossomed. They loved the camaraderie and friendships they built. It was a natural step for them to want to join the martial arts classes with their new friends. The instructors, especially Mr. Poey, are fantastic. Recently, my daughter competed in her first tournament after months of dedicated training. She took home medals in all three events for her age group: 2nd in weapons form, and 3rd in both open hand form and sparring! This achievement is a direct result of the excellent instruction and support she received at Higher Vision. Despite our busy schedules, karate class is always a highlight for my kids.

Been going to the studio for almost 9 years. I've stayed and came every week and earned my 2nd degree blackbelt after 8 years. Truly an amazing dojo; changed my whole life. Tom Poey, coach and mentor, has helped me and one of the main people who inspired me to become the person I am today.

I’ve known Mr. Poey for nearly 8-9 years. During that time, I took a break, but when I returned, he welcomed me back with open arms, fully supporting me in my journey of self-improvement and martial arts. If you’re looking for a place where your child can feel at home while still learning discipline, martial arts, and growing alongside others, this is the place to be.

Higher Vision Studios is located in the Kempsriver Crossing Shopping Center. You can enter the shopping center from several directions, such as from Kempsville Rd, Indian River Rd, and Kempsriver Dr. The road within the shopping center is Fordham Dr. My visit here was on September 14, 2025. The reason for the visit here that day was to celebrate my nephew's birthday. Many of his friends were there too. The storefront for the business is similar to how many other places are, but you can definitely see the big Ninja Warrior sign across the windows on the outside. After coming inside, there was a table area for everyone to sit. However, at that time, it was playtime for the kids. They were running through an obstacle course to try and beat their prior timed attempts. They were at this for quite a while, and it was fun to watch them try, especially after doing it awhile as you could tell they were getting tired out. I'd call that part mission accomplished. Once the obstacle course time was done, everyone came back to the table to celebrate my nephew's birthday. The staff were getting the next event set up during that time. Everyone had a great time with the cake. The second part of the play here involved the kids vs. adults. The lights were turned off, and it was basically like a Nerf War between them. I didn't do that part of it, but I did watch it all unfold. The kids were very quick to get the adults. There are several hiding areas to avoid getting caught or to sneak attack with the Nerf gun. There were also some mini snowballs you could throw around too. Once that part was done and the lights were back on, you could see everyone was tired out. Overall, this was a great place to have a birthday party. The staff were welcoming, and they were patient with the kids too. The atmosphere in here was tuned to the level of fun. They also have weekly summer camps and other offerings as well. There seems to be something for everyone here. If you are looking for a place to go for a birthday party or some other type of event, be sure to check this place out.

We had my son’s birthday party at Higher Visions and it was perfect! The ninja theme was so much fun, and the kids were fully entertained the entire time. The owner did an amazing job hosting and leading the party — you can tell he really cares and brings great energy. It was also super easy to come in, decorate, and clean up afterward, which made everything stress-free for me. The party timing was just right too — not too long, not too short. My son had the best time, and so did all his friends. Highly recommend for a fun and easy birthday experience!
