Cornerstone Jiu Jitsu, Silverdale

We were in town for a week, and had the pleasure of training with these awesome people! They were all very kind and welcoming, and the facility was very clean! Everyone who step in the place, took their shoes off, and I really appreciate that! My biggest pet peeve at any jujitsu gym is cross contamination and people stepping off the mat without shoes and contaminating the mats. They had a couple sanitization stations at either end of the mats and shoes you could use when you went into the bathroom. The bathroom even had just about everything you could think about needing to prepare yourself to train, and may have forgotten to do at home. They were stocked with nail clippers, extra hair ties, Band-Aids, body wipes, mouthwash, it was amazing! the professor, there was very knowledgeable and you could see that he really respected and understood jujitsu. I had a nice long conversation with his wife and co owner, and she was just the sweetest most lovely person to get to know. There’s so much I could say about this dojo, and if we are ever back in the area, we will definitely be visiting here again!

This gym is definitely my second home. The coaches are amazing and so are all the people training. This is a family friendly gym and is extremely welcoming, at the same time this gym is also really great for those looking to compete BJJ. The professor focuses a lot on technique and control which not only helps with competence, but with the ability to learn the sport. I have been lucky enough to train at this gym through two of my pregnancies, and I’ve always felt safe and looked after by my training partners. I love the women’s classes especially, it is a great environment to be a part of and have fun choking your friends.

One of the hardest things for me on vacation is missing jiu jitsu back home. So sometimes I try to find cool places to train wherever we are. Cornerstone Jiu Jitsu Silverdale definitely lived up to that. I reached out to Professor Al before our trip, just looking for a place to train with a cool vibe, good people, no egos. He was super responsive and welcoming, inviting me to drop by when we got into town. I was able to train with them twice during our stay, and it couldn't have been better. Solid jiu jitsu, great teaching, great people, clean and beautiful school. It really made me feel like I was back on the mats at home. If you live in the area, I highly recommend looking into training here. If you are visiting the area, reach out to them. You won't be disappointed. Cornerstone is my families home away from home. At Cornerstone we have found friends that became family. At Cornerstone we train hard, learn and practice humility, grace, discipline, and patience all while having a ton of fun!!

We were visiting the area and my family wanted to continue training while on vacation. Cornerstone welcomed us in, and allowed us to use their trial session. Coach Al and Coach George we’re very personable, knowledgeable, and detailed with their techniques. The atmosphere was very welcoming, and family friendly. It was a pleasure for my family to come train at Cornerstone. If we were living in the area, we would no doubt be a part of the Cornerstone family.
