I joined Greenlake Martial Arts about a month ago, and I’ve already learned so much. I’ve tried different martial arts, but this is by far the most practical and empowering style I’ve experienced. The instructors are amazing—knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely passionate about teaching. The environment is super welcoming, and the training is accessible to all fitness levels. I’m really excited to keep growing here and building the confidence to defend myself. Thank you!

I've been a fan of GMAS for over 15 years and can honestly say that the skills and mindset practiced here have made me a better person. Matt and the good people of GMAS are both supportive and patient, while at the same time encouraging you to always do your best. I cannot recommend this school enough, and it's 100% because of the people. So much in fact, that both myself and my son have started training there again (Post pandemic)

My classes here are one of the best things I do all week. I feel empowered and educated and so well supported. The instructors are all excellent and very patient with my beginner brain and body. I love how the studio feels like a community and I appreciate how welcoming and encouraging all the students are of one another.

Exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a place to learn and practice self-defense from the ground up, and this is it. The instructors are excellent—consistently offering guidance to improve techniques, emphasizing safety, and fostering a diverse and welcoming community. Instructor Jacob, in particular, demonstrates great passion and dedication, and he is very patient with new students. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow and learn here.

I believe that the Tsun Jo system for survival self-defense is the finest martial art ever developed. The moves are practical, simple to remember, and universally applicable. The system's practitioners and instructors regularly test it for weakness, and do not hide in formality or tradition, nor shy from reevaluating how it works over time, and adapting it as necessary. The school's students and instructors are kind, safe training partners, and the class environment is positive and motivating. This is the best self-defense martial-arts school in the Northwest, bar none.
