Dropped in while visiting my folks in the area. Kindred is a welcoming, relaxed environment with some tough rolls. As a bigger dude, it was good to get some rolls with some larger + higher belts. I also really enjoyed Coach Harry's class—did some eco/CLA style drills and learned a great detail on an anaconda choke. Thank you Kindred for having me!

Kindred coaches are the best of the best. They make learning bjj fun while also running a tight ship. Students learn life values like respect, honor, hard work, doing your best, doing what’s right, the importance of good hygiene, etc. The coaches are great communicators and know how to talk to kids. They are good role models and my son really looks up to them. They’ve even offered encouragement and advice when he talks to them about his life outside of bjj. The gym is well lit and always clean and the atmosphere is positive, encouraging, and focused. The parent community at kindred is also amazing and classes are available all the way from complete beginner to kids (and adults) who are seriously dedicated and competing at regional matches. Would I recommend kindred bjj to you? Absolutely 👍

The training for the baby sharks 🦈 is next level. The coach explains what they’re doing for the day and while they are practicing the moves they have other students watching them to make sure they get it down which is totally different from what we’ve experienced at other classes. Highly recommend

Six months ago, I walked into my first trial class feeling nervous and wondering whether starting a combat sport in my mid-30s was a smart idea. Learning self-defense had always been a goal, but life gets busy and it’s easy to put it off. In addition, I was especially concerned about getting injured while training with more experienced people. Those concerns disappeared the moment I stepped inside. I felt welcomed and supported right away. Counterintuitively, the most experienced practitioners are also the most controlled and careful. The coaching is excellent across the board, and each coach knows how to break down techniques in a way that fits your experience level. The coaches I’ve worked with most closely are Jeff, Bryan, Harry, and Alfy, and every interaction has been positive. I also really appreciate the community here. Training twice a week has been the perfect balance for making steady progress without sacrificing family time nor other hobbies. If you’re on the fence, I highly recommend coming in for a trial class, you’ll be glad you did!

My son has been taking classes here for about nine months and it’s been the best experience! Such a welcome community and the coaches are great; knowledgeable and patient, while still having fun. He’s learning all kinds of great life skills, respect for himself and others, perseverance, dealing with setbacks. I highly recommend Kindred!
