I have trained martial arts for more than two decades and am fortunate to have found great communities of people that are welcoming, encouraging, and supportive. Seattle Integrated Martial Arts is no exception. SIMA is welcoming. Of everyone. Young, old. Agile, less agile. Formerly agile and trying to come to terms (hand raise on that one). Bob is a true student, in every sense. He has built a safe place for those willing to put in the work to learn and grow. If you ever said, “i could never do that”, (especially you ladies). I challenge you to give it a try. You won’t be sorry.

I love training at SIMA! It’s a fantastic community working together to continuously improve and learn. The Kali/IMA program is great for fitness, self defense, and introduction to a wide variety of martial arts. The BJJ program is where I’ve spent most of my time, and it’s a great way to get in some rolls, go down deep rabbit holes, or just learn about the basics of ground game. Seriously, come in and give it a try, really friendly place.

Our kid is thriving at SIMA! We've seen improvements in focus, discipline, and strength--all with benefits in the classroom and other sports as well. The small class size and laid back atmosphere are a good fit for our family. Highly recommend!

I looked at all the schools in this part of Seattle and SIMA stood out as an excellent school. The owner is knowledgeable, caring, and extremely capable. I primarily train the striking classes and it is a good group. The BJJ crew is also very close knit and welcoming.

It has been nearly 2 years that I started training at SIMA and I can say with confidence that this school has been the most welcoming and inclusive. The community has been helpful and patient with new students. The instructor understands and works with individual's limitations and enhances their capabilities. He is very knowledgeable in Muay Thai, Kali, JKD, and BJJ. I attend more of the Kali classes. It encompasses many of the Filipino martial arts such as Escrima Arnis (stick fighting), Panantukan (boxing), Dumog (grappling). If you are hungry for unique and universal martial art, this will satiate that pallet.
