My daughter has been attending JKI West Ashley for almost a year now and it’s been the best experience. She continues to gain confidence and improve her focus, skills and techniques. Brian and all of the instructors are outstanding, very knowledgeable and great at teaching all age levels. I highly recommend their after school program!

The team at Japan Karate Institute have been most wonderful to work with and most welcoming as my son switched from another karate school. They have been extremely patient helping him learn the slight differences in the styles and in helping him feel comfortable and confident. The other students have been welcoming to my son and have helped him gain confidence as well. We have had such a wonderful experience.

Japan Karate Institute has been such a fun place for my kids to grow, develop discipline, and challenge themselves. My kids range in age from 4 starting out, to 10 and they were all treated with respect and had a fantastic time learning the fundamentals of martial arts. The dojo is large and clean, all of the instructors are welcoming, and every interaction my kids have had has been a positive one.

My boys have been enrolled in JKI for three years. It has been an excellent experience. They are developing a strong sense of pride and respect for themselves and others. The after school program and summer camps are also great. Finally, the teachers are all committed to developing the students both as martial artists and members of a community.

JKI does an amazing job…Great people and great martial arts! They are wonderful with children and strike the perfect balance between letting kids be kids and teaching discipline and technique. I’ve watched my kids blossom and grow in just a few short months. I also train in their adult classes which is an intense and rewarding experience - take it from me, I’ve been training for over 25 years and teach martial arts in a very similar style. I wouldn’t send my kids anywhere else and highly recommend them for all ages!
