Reviewers highlight how students gain confidence and discipline, with parents noting significant positive changes in their children's behavior. Professor Justin James receives specific praise for his clear teaching methods, and coaches are described as respectful, encouraging, and approachable. My husband and I visited GB Aloha Stadium while we were in Oahu, and we were welcomed with open arms. All the people were very friendly and warm. As a female coach, I loved seeing how many ladies were on the mats!! Professor Justin did a great job in teaching — very easy to understand and apply. We are so thankful we got to train, and are looking forward to the next time we’re in Oahu to train again!

Both of my 7 year old boys started at Gracie Barra Aloha Stadium in June. My boys were very shy and very hesitant before their first class. In the last 2 months, I have seen them gain confidence and enjoyment from attending class. They look forward to every class and are excited to show family and friends the things they learn. My boys love making friends at class. The instructors are awesome!!! The instructors explain and demonstrate the different techniques to the students very well. I love that parents are able to watch practices. GB Aloha Stadium has made the environment welcoming and really makes you feel apart of the family. I will definitely be signing up my youngest son once he is old enough to join.

Conveniently located in stadium mall. My daughter on a visit to the facility was so eager to start. She had her first class and loved it. She’s made a lot of new friends and enjoys the classes. She always looks forward to the days she has class. She also shares with just about everyone that she does Jiu-Jitsu. I’ve seen a difference in my daughter’s confidence and sportsmanship. I really like that the parents are allowed to watch, as we get to help the kids practice at home some of the basic techniques from class. Professor Justin is easy to speak with and he has such a great team of coaches that assist. The facility is clean, this is a plus for the kids and adults that attend. If you’re ever in the area, stop by and check it out.

My son participated in a trial class and really enjoyed it. He is new to jiu-jitsu, and although he is 4 and a half the coaches said he could enroll because he was able to follow instructions. We decided to enroll him the following week and purchased the uniform. During that class, he became overwhelmed and cried so he stood to the side and watched. My son decided to try again at the next class and we asked in advance if it would be okay to attend. We were told it might not be a good idea and that he should come back when he’s older. We weren’t able to return the Gi ( even half a refund would’ve been ok). Other gyms require their own Gi so we have no use for it. If a child is said to be ready to enroll, it’s confusing to then be told they should no longer attend after a difficult class. Maybe this place isn’t for beginners? The interaction left us feeling discouraged. I should’ve have done more research and look for a beginners gym that’s more kid friendly.
