Ky (pronounced key) has been training my 79 year old mom twice a week and we have seen marked improvement in her balance, strength, and form. He is highly attentive throughout the session ie does not get distracted with off-task phone use; is always punctual, responsive, and dependable. He focuses on thoughtful functional training - training that is diversified and strategic as opposed to just doing the same ole’ routine. Me and my brother (both of us are fairly active and work out 4-6x per week) also trained with Ky a couple of times and we were sore in a very good way afterwards. Ky brings a new rainbow of exercises every week. Each session is structured but “new” as he seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of the different strength, cardio, mobility, balancing exercises. He is also very patient and encouraging and his energy and enthusiasm are infectious. His energy is like our volcanos; his heart is pure aloha; and I would highly recommend especially for folks who are looking for an attentive and meaningful trainer for elderly parents.

I first met Ky Vuong while working out at the Atkinson YMCA in 1998, and I can say without hesitation that he is the most inspirational fitness trainer I’ve ever encountered. What sets Ky and Key Fitness apart isn't just his deep technical knowledge—it’s the fact that he leads by example every single day. ​He has a unique ability to push you past your limits to ensure you get real results, but he does it with a level of energy and positivity that makes you want to work harder. His care for each individual is second to none; you never feel like just another client. If you want a trainer who is as invested in your goals as you are, Ky is the person to see.

My entire family is training with Key and we are all very sore and very, very satisfied! Key is by far the best personal trainer I've ever had -- he keeps things interesting without resorting to rote routines, which really helps challenge me and improve my overall fitness. I found his functional training to be especially helpful and satisfying. He brings a level of energy that you don't usually find with other trainers, keeping me motivated and wanting to continually learn and improve. Highly recommended (but be warned, he doesn't mess around!). Thanks Key!

My family has had the opportunity to work with Ky regularly over the past few months utilizing his FitTruk and we can’t get enough! As a parent of two high performing student athletes, I have seen lots of training techniques and programs but nothing compares to the functional fitness training that Ky provides. It’s the perfect mix of intensity, strength, cardio and best of all… FUN! We have already begun seeing results, and plan on continuing our FitTruk training sessions. Ky is an incredible motivator and provides consistent feedback and encouragement. Not only does he provide personalized training for each kid, but he also provides important guidance in nutrition and hydration practices. If you’re looking for personal training, or team training to take you to the next level of competition, look no further- THIS IS IT.

I had the pleasure of training with Ky during my month in Oahu – and boy did he kick my butt! 💪 As a pilates girl from Canada, I didn’t know what to expect when my cousin brought me to my first session! The workouts were so intense, and so rewarding, I always left the sessions wanting to come back for more! Ky is so encouraging and brings such a fun and positive energy to every class! He pushed me to my limits and it really helped me realize I am much stronger and more resilient than I ever thought I was! I felt so proud of myself whenever I completed a set. I saw so much improvement in my mental energy and physique just from doing a few classes in such a short period of time. If you’re in Oahu looking to try out new workout classes and want an amazing coach, Ky is your guy. His workouts are functional AND fun, I 1000% recommend him to anyone, all ages, all sizes.
