UFC GYM Waikele
About
UFC GYM Waikele offers mixed martial arts, Muay Thai, and kickboxing training in Honolulu, with a focus on family friendly fitness options. The gym provides youth classes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and kickboxing, allowing families to work out together. Amenities include regularly maintained equipment, a mostly clean facility, healthy food and drink options, and recovery services like red light therapy saunas. The gym operates with a coaching policy where members contract with the gym rather than specific coaches, meaning coaching assignments can change at the gym's discretion.
reviewsWhat Members Say
Members consistently praise the quality of boxing and kickboxing classes, well maintained equipment, and family friendly atmosphere with youth BJJ and kickboxing programs. However, multiple reviewers report recurring issues with rude and unprofessional front desk staff who create an unwelcoming environment. Specific concerns include administrative problems like billing errors, unexpected fees, and unclear policies about towel requirements and coaching assignments. While some families have excellent experiences, others feel customer service issues overshadow the good training facilities.

My kids love the youth classes that they offer such as BJJ and kickboxing. I also enjoy the gym as their guests so we can all get a good workout at the same time. I guess you can say that we get fit as a family. Also the staff is just great and the customers there are also friendly. The plus side to everything is that they offer healthy drinks and food for a good snack after an amazing workout. I have already recommended them to a few friends 🤙🏽

As others have already mentioned, the blonde woman at the front desk, with very noticeable Botox, is consistently rude and unprofessional with members. That behavior is the main reason I decided to cancel my membership. To be fair, the boxing and kickboxing classes were good, the gym is mostly clean, and the equipment is regularly maintained. Unfortunately, none of that compensates for the poor customer service. Basic respect should be expected when you’re paying for a membership. You’re working with people who are investing in their physical and mental health, not somewhere they should feel uncomfortable or disrespected. Based on other reviews, this appears to be a recurring issue, not an isolated experience.

The gym is fantastic, and the staff is excellent—no complaints there. However, my low rating is due to their coaching policy. If you decide to sign up for coaching, keep in mind that you are not committing to a specific coach; instead, you are entering into a contract with the gym itself. They have the authority to change your coach at any time and assign you a new one. I find this practice somewhat unfair and potentially misleading. If you are thinking of receiving a coach, please keep that in mind.

UFC waikele I normally go to UFC mililani - LOVE the staff there everyone is amazing and so sweet . And the gym is always clean . They aren’t mean there lol UFC Waikele? I go when I’m running late and don’t have the time to drive to Mililani . The gym is good. The kids center needs to be updated . And the staff ? Whoever is hiring should coach your staff to be nicer . I understand policies but telling me I NEED to have a towel to workout (had one) the one I brought is “too small and next time I need a beach towel” when I’m paying a 136 month membership plus the $72 month for the recovery is not okay. No I’m not trying to be entitled but the rude / unwelcoming front staff is not okay. So sorry I ruined your day by walking in to workout ? The staff won’t even acknowledge you if you’re up front trying to buy something they just continue doing what they were doing and then begrudgingly walk over and scan you code and say “your good” You’d think that if someone Is already playing for the gym membership and then the quarterly enhancement fees they wouldn’t REQUIRE a towel to workout or I’m sorry “a bigger towel” what’s next I have to bring my own sanitizing spray? The red light therapy sauna only has two panels working . I don’t normally write reviews and I keep my negative feelings to myself but I’ve had pretty unpleasant encounters with the staff here . Only friend staff here , and thank God , is the kids club staff . I like the gyms equipment

I am beyond frustrated with the lack of accountability and basic administrative competence at this establishment. After committing to a $2,600 family subscription, you would expect a minimum level of customer service. Instead, I’ve dealt with nothing but broken promises and predatory fees. The Issue When I signed up, I explicitly instructed the staff to use a specific credit card for the $60 annual fee, distinct from the primary account card. The staff looked me in the eye, nodded their heads, and guaranteed it was updated in the system. What Actually Happened: Ignored Instructions: On the day of the charge, they completely ignored my request and attempted to bill an out-of-service card. Automatic Penalties: Because they ignored my instructions and the transaction failed, they slapped me with a $23.50 "processing fee." Refusal to Correct: Despite me explaining the situation—and reminding them that their own staff promised this was handled—management refused to waive the fee or admit their error. The Verdict It is absolutely ridiculous to treat a high-paying customer this way over a mistake their own team made. They would rather lose a family’s business over a wrongful $23 fee than simply fix their own clerical error. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere that actually respects its members.
