I dropped in for a Tuesday class and was very impressed! The instruction by professors Shane and Kimmie was very thorough and detailed oriented. Their students actively engage and communicated with them throughout the technique/instruction portion. Doing so allowed professors Shane and Kimmie to address each student’s concerns or questions individually while drilling what was discussed earlier. Both have a wealth of knowledge and experience in jiu jitsu and it shows in how detailed their instruction is. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly making me feel right at home as soon as I entered. Each student was very polite and respectful and many actively engaged in conversation with me which helped to significantly reduce the anxiety of visiting a new school. Overall I had an excellent experience at Uptown Jiu Jitsu and will definitely be going back the next time I’m in town.
