I dropped in and it was super easy. They had an online system to handle that. I also traveled without a gi this time and they had some available to rent. The facility is clean, modern, and a great vibe. The instruction from Daniel was great, everyone was welcoming, and I had some great rolls.

VSSL UNION Jiu Jitsu in Honolulu has been such a great experience for my son. From the beginning, you can tell this isn’t just about learning moves or winning matches. There’s a real emphasis on respect, discipline, and being a good person — on and off the mats. Professor Jason is fantastic. He’s patient, steady, and really connects with the kids. He pushes them to work hard, but he also makes sure they understand the importance of character and how they treat others. My son genuinely looks forward to class and has so much respect for him. What I appreciate most is the culture there. The kids are held to a high standard — not just in technique, but in behavior. They’re encouraged to show kindness, accountability, and maturity in everyday life. It’s not just about earning stripes or belts; it’s about earning them the right way. Since starting at VSSL UNION, I’ve seen my son grow in confidence and resilience. He carries himself differently. The gym has such a positive vibe, and it’s clear they care about the kids and the community. We’re really grateful to be part of VSSL UNION and would absolutely recommend it to any family in Honolulu looking for a strong, positive environment for their child.
