I am going on 10 months total as a member here and am thankful I found this community of people who are eager to learn and better themselves. As a boxing coach of 25 years with my own gym, I am extremely picky, as I prioritize and value both safety and quality technique above all. You will find both here. You are also free to learn at your own pace along side all skill levels. All instructors are very knowledgeable and easy to learn from. Professor Eldred has done a great job of creating an environment where anyone will feel welcome. Highly recommend!

My son had been a student for nearly 2 years and it has been a great experience. The studio is clean and atmosphere is very orderly which is so important given the techniques taught could cause injury without proper supervision. The kids get ample direct supervision and Mr Eldred ( Professor Greg ) teaches a fair number of classes himself. All the instructors are great with kids. Two years later my son is more confident and I believe much better equipped to protect himself if needed. I recommend this BJJ academy without reservation.

My friends and I attended a self-defense seminar here and the class was fantastic. Professor Greg and Amanda were very knowledgeable and patient. We all left feeling good about the techniques we learned and hungry to learn more. Hope to attend class here again in the future.

Indy BJJ has the best ethics of any program I've trained with. Leadership is very intentional about prioritizing safety, humility, and long-term growth. The Academy knows what it is culturally and is thus remarkably well insulated from some of the unfortunate dynamics which show up in combat sports. Classes are structured and paced in such a way that beginners survive the drinking from a firehose stage, fundamentals are concretized, and upper belts continue to be challenged. Professor Eldred and the other instructors offer decades of experience with BJJ and related martial arts. Despite the relatively set curriculum of the academy, these eclectic backgrounds provide insight far beyond the sport Jiu Jitsu world. Students look out for one another and share knowledge frequently in Open Mat settings. After 2 years of training here, I have no complaints and would recommend this gym to anyone!

The best martial arts school I have ever attended. They don’t just teach the sports jujitsu, they emphasize on self defense and real world scenarios. And that is very hard to come by when everything is being commercialized these days. The professor and the instructors are always there to help and to meet you at where you are in your journey . And its not just them, my peers and higher belts are always kind enough to come over, and point out what I am doing incorrectly. You learn new pointers every class and in this particular martial arts, technique beats power. Heck, I got submitted multiple times by folks who are waaay smaller and lighter than me. So come on over, you don’t have to be a big strong man to start. Every black belt started as a white belt.
