Master Johnson and Ms. Johnson do an amazing job! They are kind, professional, and pay close attention to all their students. They have crafted one-on-ones for my son to help him get on track when needed. Master Johnson is a very skilled teacher who knows what he's talking about. They communicate very effectively and they're easy to work with. We feel very lucky to have found this gem on the west side!

Master Johnson is a great guy. The school is small, but the heart they put in is grand. If you're interested in Tae Kwon Do I recommend going by and seeing what it's about.

My experience with SMAA has been eye opening and helpful in my life. I have been student at SMAA for a little over a year and have gained lots of knowledge. Before becoming a student with SMAA, I knew nothing about martial arts. I have learned kicks, strikes, self defense, and forms which have all helped me gain knowledge on how to defend myself and control my body while moving. For me, the martial arts class has given me a new perspective and shifted my mindset in a way where I am learning to use my body to be able to protect myself. If you put in the effort, commit yourself to learning something new, have an open mind, and willingness to learn, Master Johnson and Mrs. Johnson will help you learn. It doesn't matter, how old you are, anyone can learn Martial Arts at any age if you are willing to put in the effort. Master Johnson and Mrs. Johnson will work with you, no matter your age or skill level.if you are willing to learn and practice they will work with you. As an adult, I have a very busy schedule and they make every effort to ensure I am still learning the material taught in class. But again, you as the individual have to commit yourself to learn, put in the effort, and practice. If you do these things, Master Johnson and Mrs. Johnson will support you in the best way they can. I am also not the fastest learner when it comes to learning new material, but again they will break it down in a way where any learner at any pace can learn the skills. From learning self defensive moves to working on my balance and stability, I am grateful to the both of them for giving me the opportunity to learn. Knowledge is power and learning is key in life. As an adult there is so much to learn and I am grateful that Master Johnson and Mrs. Johnson continue to give me the opportunity to learn in their classes.

My grandchildren have been attending for over a year. As a whole Master Johnson and his family have been very kind and accommodating. When the kids needed to miss class we paid our fees. When Master Johnson needed to cancel class because of his health or someone in his family, or because he needs to study for his continuing Taekwondo education we still paid our fees. BUT these are children this is their time to explore themselves and what they want to try. IT'S NOT PERSONAL! If they want to try something different like a school sport. Also finances or class fees should not be discussed with the students or in front of the class and other parents. Testing should be based on skill and heart not preferences. At the end of the day it is his class. We all have the choice to participate or not. When a class is no longer enjoyable or fun for the children it's time to exit.
