I want to personally express my gratitude for the work you all do with the students!! The ethics, etiquette, knowledge and skill I have experienced while just watching the classes are so impressive!!! These students are dedicated to the art!! The instructors are kind, tireless, and convey their knowledge and skills of these ancient arts in such a way that the historical value as well as modern application is clear. I cannot recommend BCMAA enough!! Thank you all for what you do!

The instructors are respectful, encouraging, and provide the structure and discipline needed for real growth. They go beyond teaching physical skills by helping students build confidence, focus, and resilience. I have only been to Bullitt County Martial Arts Academy once, but I can already tell that it's going to be a great place to learn and where you can meet friends that become like family! It has so much potential and many opportunities to challenge students of all different ranks and stages of life they are in! I will say, one thing that can feel challenging is having to learn Japanese because it's brand new, but everyone is so helpful and most of them are learning right along with you! I mean what student wouldn't want to impress others by learning another language! In the end, they are all about wanting you to become a well-rounded Mixed Martial Artist!

The Balance Fit class has been fun and challenging over the past six weeks. Ma’am Tish has adapted each workout to our level of fitness. The focus of the class is on building strength and using martial arts techniques for fitness. I loved doing kickboxing workouts when I was younger and this is a lower intensity version of that. It’s a ladies only environment so very encouraging and fun to be around.

It’s hard to know where to start when reviewing this dojo. It has a welcoming atmosphere that helps new students acclimate without sacrificing the structure and discipline of a martial arts school. The school is a full art, incorporating striking, kicking and grappling techniques so that students are prepared for all situations. It is family oriented with parents and children training side by side. The instructors are patient with both adults and children, having a proper grasp of what children are mentally capable of processing and what adults are physically capable of doing. The competition between students to ‘beat’ fellow students isn’t what drives training. Students challenge themselves to be the best practitioner of the ‘Art’ they can and fellow students encourage one another to succeed. Students are not ‘shamed’ by instructors or students when they find tasks difficult, they are cheered on to persevere in the face of hardship. Perseverance in hardship is the cornerstone of training and it is a good lesson for adults and children alike. This dojo teaches martial arts, but also highly valuable life skills.
