I am so happy i have found KSKD! Sensei Melissa, Sensei Almonte, Sensei Ryan and the other Sensei's are wonderful! KSKD is the best in the city of louisville with there teaching styles, encouraging atmosphere and knowledge. This is no Mcdojo. You come here to become the best version of yourself, your health and knowledge.

One of THE best schools in Kentucky. Period. My son started when he was almost 4. It has been a life changing experience. Sensei Covington has been a very positive influence on my son Chuck. Through the teaching of Karate, Chuck has learned respect, discipline, and the meaning of responsibility. He knows how to handle “bully” situations, and knows at all times, violent behavior is unacceptable. I say this with the most sincerity, I have learned how to be a better father by Sensei Covington’s example and patient teaching style. Do yourself a favor and stop by to visit them. It can only help you or your child’s development to become a positive, strong and healthy human being....

My 7 year old needed some focus, was craving responsibility and further accountability. KSKD was exactly the thing that helped. He has grown so much while coming here and everyone here is great. Sensei Melissa, Sensei Almonte, other instructors and students. The other kids are so helpful to one another. I'm very pleased with the vibe here. We had tried another place first and it's a much different feeling here. So if you're looking around definitely try them out and find what feels right for you or your child.

When I decided that going to the gym was getting too boring, I realized I had to do something more creative to to stay in shape. When my wife wanted to learn self-defense I knew martial arts would offer a solution for both of us. When looking for schools, or dojos, I focused on authenticity of the arts, skill level of the instructor and of course...the cost of classes. Kentuckiana Shotokan exceeded my standards by a mile. The most important thing that we love about our dojo is how easy it is to call it home. Everyone was so welcoming, we immediately felt like family. We attend 5 classes a week and have learned so much. We're in great shape and even a little dangerous!

This is a great place to get martial arts training no matter what level or age you're at. Sensei Almonte Covington is very good at what he does which includes teaching Shotokan Martial Arts. I've trained for about 4 years as a teenager with him. Then I went off to college. Its been about a decade since I've really practiced at a high and consistent level, but the techniques and knowledge that I learned from him sticks with me to this day. This is the place to go! You'll learn more than just fighting and katas!
