Hidden Teachings Karate

I grew up in this Dojo, as a kid with lots of energy and anger, karate was the perfect activity to make me the man I am today. The instruction is top notch, with to a long history of traditional Okinawan karate. This system in no joke in life protection arts.

This dojo is a great place for anyone wanting to learn Karate. The rich influence from the founding sensei and the diligence of the teachers now, has kept this dojo a place of great learning and appreciation of the art of self defense. You don’t just learn a sport with points and levels, you learn a discipline in a defensive art.

I am submitting this anonymously to document concerns about professionalism at this dojo. During my time as a student, I attended regularly, participated fully, and contributed positively to the training environment. However, I experienced inconsistent treatment and a lack of clear communication from the head instructor. There were noticeable patterns of favoritism toward certain students, which affected class dynamics and created an uneven training environment. When I was removed from the dojo, I was told I had been “unprofessional” and had “disrespected the dojo,” but no specific examples or incidents were provided. I was not given an opportunity to understand or address the concerns. The absence of transparency and the subjective nature of the decision made the environment feel unpredictable and unprofessional. I am submitting this to document my experience and to encourage clearer communication and more consistent standards for all students.
