I've been practicing here for four years; it's one of my favorite martial arts communities I've been a part of! Would highly recommend!

Excellent dojo! I really appreciate how authentic the lead instructor is; the depth of his skill is well balanced with his humble character. While I've only recently begun to train here, I'm already impressed with the warmth and acceptance I've felt from the community. Being new can be difficult, the patience and encouragement I'm receiving from teachers and fellow students is extremely helpful!

I find so much value in my 8 year-old's aikido training, especially the non-physical aspects that he is not necessarily aware of (respect, discipline, calm focus, and practicing routines related to the space and culture). I believe it is really guiding him well in these aspects and teaching deep character-building lessons. I actually love spending time in the dojo too, it is a lovely calming space.

ACV is truly an amazing, welcoming place with phenomenal instructors and students. This is more than just a simple dojo, it is a community of learners where students and teachers constantly help one another. As a parent, I’ve seen first hand the positive impact it has on kids - they learn discipline, develop confidence, get physical activity, and practice mindfulness all while learning a practical martial art. The atmosphere is friendly and not at all intense or competitive like many martial arts places around - everyone is there to learn together. If you are looking to learn a martial art or want to enroll your kids in a program that will help them develop into strong adults look no further!

A sanctum welcome to all, ACV is a special place in Burlington. The space itself is gorgeous. Unostentatious but thoughtful plants and artwork adorn the interior creating a space inviting healing and growth. Reverent but assumingly the honor and lineage of the dojo's roots is well echoed and observed in it's family-oriented community. Vermonters looking for a martial arts and method that encompasses both Mind and Body, this is an Aikido dojo of the highest caliber. ACV is for young and old, there are seriously dedicated students as well as UVM students and kids' classes. They offer weapons training, financial assistance, and have deeply caring staff and leadership. Increasingly grateful for this space and its people here in Burlington.
